Join us in crafting a modern manu tukutuku, a contemporary take on the traditional Māori kite, honouring Waipuna-ā-rangi, the star associated with rain and winds essential for kite flying. Historically, these kites were flown during Matariki, the Māori New Year, to send messages or wishes to the heavens. This hands-on activity fosters a meaningful connection to our cultural heritage and the natural elements. This event is supported by Downtown Tauranga.
