Tuna descended from the springs of Puna-Kauariki in the heavens when the spring dried up due to drought.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
A sculptor who has to date worked in large scale stone, bronze and timber, Bailey’s work is informed by his identity as māori as he endeavor’s to re- place a cultural thumbprint on the landscape of NZ/Aotearoa by way of his public artworks. Bailey is just starting the journey of exploring digital sculpting as another tool to be used.
Bailey has extensively exhibited and completed several public artwork commissions both internationally and nationally with a documentary on his life and works to date completed in 2010.
