Te tāpuapuanui i te Rangi
Karakia:
E ua, e te uaua;
E mao, e te maomao!
Tihore mai i runga,
Tihore mai i raro,
Kei mate nga tamariki a te ika nui.
E kiko! E kiko e.
The kaupapa and design of this artwork was to celebrate ‘Atua Wahine’ as in Wai-Puna-Rangi and more of a female flowing form as opposed to more traditional carved styles. Waipunarangi emerges from a large pool of water in the sky foretelling the coming of rain in the Matariki tāpuapua, The pools of Matariki.

Born in Te Whanganui-a-Tara raised in Porirua, I am a multidisciplinary Māori designer and artist driven by exploration and experimentation. As a self-described haututu artist, I enjoy pushing creative boundaries and working across various mediums, including carving, painting, mixed media, and digital 3D art. My style is constantly evolving, influenced by new ideas, challenges, and, at times, sheer boredom.
